so for week 3's tutorial, a draft as the SMP (note, all these are just brainstorm ideas.)...

Communities:
1) Forums


The strategies for recruitment is kind of standard, I'm still trying to find USP (unique selling point) that Pool and mytribe have.. but anyway these strategies that I thought of:

1) "There's another outlet besides Youtube to showcase your masterpieces and talents!"
In other words, promoting mytribe and POOL via facebook and twitter.

2) "Furthermore, media professionals of all sorts are going to look at them...'
3) A pioneer in Pool, mytribe.
4) Potential job opportunities?
5) Better critiques and comments than Youtube
6) Monthly competitions within different categories with REAL prizes?

My individual contribution to my tut (facebook and twitter) will be these:

1) Make audio podcast for the online feature - if possible.

2) Monitor the number of people joining the group. Stimulate interest and post links to keep it going.

3) Get in touch with the creatives people - photographers, musicians, web designers, videographers. Try to convince them to join the mytribe facebook page.

Timeline:

-March 17: Draft SMP project outline due

-April 10: My tribe project launches

-May 26: Final written report task due

Personal goals and self assessment:

- I would have to at least contribute one piece of media to the mytribe Media.

- Be actively involved within the tutorial group in terms of criticism, collaborativeness and initiative.
